Despite the initial queries that many had at the inception of the school chaplaincy programme, I believe that the overwhelming sentiment is that people would like it maintained.
The programme provides a great mechanism for Principals to be able to deliver a second voice from an independent source to help guide students through the tumultuous times which are present at school.
Families like the idea that there is reinforcement of a role that presents the values that protect their children whether it be from hurting themselves and or just having another ear to listen to their problems.
Everybody has free choice.  It is not compulsory so you don’t have to avail yourself of the service if you don’t want it.  But why put under pressure or move to get rid of a service that appears to be genuinely supported by parents, welcomed by students and reinforces a set of values that makes all of our lives more comfortable?
As one constituent said “The Principal and teachers appreciate having a chaplain in the school because when needed, no one else can quite fill that role as she does.”

Yes I totally agree with these statements.

I believe Chaplains provide an invaluable service to schools and students.

I have seen first hand through volunteering at a local Highschool, what a difference these Chaplains are making.

Students are more than willing to talk to them about different issues as the Chaplains provide an environment where students do not feel judged. They are not speaking to a techer or a parent but a friend which means they are often more likely to open up and be honest.

I fully support this intitative and would like to think that when my own children go to school they will have access to this kind of support and guidance.

It doesn't surprise me if the government is looking to get rid of the Chaplaincy Program.

Not long ago, a Sydney hospital had all Christian symbols removed from its chapel. The reason given was that they might offend people of other faiths. But when a Muslim leader was interviewed on the TV news, he said it certainly had nothing to do with him.

Only a couple of days ago, I saw a TV report of Christian crosses being removed from classrooms overseas, on the pretext that they were "intimidating" to people of other faiths.

Since the planet is gearing up for Global Governance using a Green Atheist/ Communist Agenda, I think it is really important for people of various faiths NOT to be drawn into any kind of conflict over religion. Instead I think it would be wise to support choice.

I believe world governments are deliberately stirring people up on purpose so they can have good reason to ABOLISH ALL FORMS OF RELIGION, other than the Atheist Greenism, of course. If people start reacting against those of other faiths, all it will achieve is to speed up the process.

So if we don't want to fall victim to Al Gore and his money grubbing mates running the TNCs, I think we should be kind to all peoples, but still oppose people smuggling and excessive immigration, which are all part of The Greens global governance plan which is also supported by Labor and Liberal parties.

I sometimes have this vision which gives Al Gore a reversal of name. He is standing in a Spanish bullfighting arena and the crowd is yelling out to the bull: "Gore Al!!!!!"
