Senator Joyce is currently on the northern New South Wales trip with the National Party team. Whilst on this trip he has been made aware of other events overseas in the United States where the Senate has conveniently delayed the vote on the Waxman-Markey Bill; Americas’ still ill-suited but far better version of Rudd’s ridiculous ETS.
A number of reasons have been given for the delay including the death of Senator Kennedy and issues relating to their current Health Bill, however a more honest appraisal would suggest that the numbers are not apparent for the bill to get passage. The reason they would not get passage is that the Senators would not have a job when they get home if they vote for it.
Americans are not very keen about bills that put Americans out of work. Unfortunately for all of us Australians, the Labor Party are far more open to the idea of introducing legislation that not only puts fellow Australians out of work but burdens everybody with a new tax. The CPRS, ‘CP’ being a ‘cunning plan’ to get us to the next election and ‘RS’ being the description of our economy if it ever gets through. It should be understood that this is a direct attack on working families, on their budgets, on their cost of food and in some instances directly on their jobs.
The Labor Party are devising an Australian future without Australian farms and they say that if we don’t support them in this ridiculous process that they hold open the threat to a double dissolution.
Well the only feedback that I am receiving at the moment on the ETS question is, if that is the issue, bring it on. The Labor Party will be unpleasantly shocked by the response.
