Everyone acknowledges that Ms Wong and Mr Rudd’s ETS is not going to change the climate.
Neither Professor Ross Garnaut nor UN Climate Chief Yvo de Boer or any scientists of any consequence or credibility believe that this will do anything at all to change the climate; in fact Mr de Boer says it won’t even change the politics at work, so it’s just a gesture.
Mr Rudd, well practiced in gestures, may want to have a yarn to the indigenous community in Australia who might suggest to him that if he wants to do something that has limited effect because you do not follow it up, but it looks good on television, then perhaps he should just apologise to the climate.

Dear Mr Joyce
What a relief to have your sensible contribution in Parliament, and in The Land this week.
One only has to look back in history to see that the climate has changed several times over millions of years.
And as for emissions trading - what a joke. Cows farting?? What about men farting? Any woman who has ever shared a bed with a man can tell you about the emissions from under the blankets.
Frances (from NSW)
