“As with most people, I shared great interest in the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama. One thing did come to my attention and, while not wanting to be puerile, I was pleased to see that the outfit First Lady Michelle Obama wore relied on natural fibre wool as a fundamental basis of its structure.

"It may be later on that we discover this is wool from alpaca rather than wool from sheep, but regardless it is wool and it makes a clear statement to the world that when what you wear really counts, you cannot go past a natural fibre such as wool.

"It would be great for the cloth mills of the world to realise that the discerning eye favours being wrapped in wool rather than plastic, the second grade synthetic alternative.”
