Having returned home from a Parliamentary Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, I was saddened to hear of the passing of former National Party Senator Dr Glen Sheil.
Dr Sheil represented Queensland in the Senate from 1974 to 1981 and again from 1984 to 1990.
I had the opportunity to speak with Dr Sheil a number of times and found him to be an enthralling, intelligent and very direct political mind.
As is expected in politics, you will not agree on every issue, however Dr Sheil succeeded in making a great contribution to our nation’s Parliament.
My thoughts and prayers are with Dr Sheil’s family during this sad time. No doubt he will be greatly missed.
