I have been travelling around the Hunter valley and I can't find one person who supports the carbon tax, not one, and believe you me I have been asking for their opinion.

It would seem that for local member Joel Fitzgibbon sticking by his mates in Canberra is more important than sticking by his mates in Hunter.

Joel, I know it will be tough for a while but, take it from me, you will survive crossing the floor.  Labor will be dirty on it for a while but they'll get over it.

Joel, I managed to do it only a year and half ago, and about 20 other times as well I think. I reckon Joel you can do it once. You'll survive Joel you really will and you would have done something incredible you would have represented your constituents.

Don't think that the people I spoke to today don't understand that if you cross the floor you can stop the carbon tax.

Even your Labor mate Tony Windsor says that you should represent your constituents, though he seems to have forgotten about that lately.

So I tell the people of Hunter that Joel can stop the carbon tax. Your local member has immense power. Even if he just said he would cross the floor he could stop it.

Let’s see how big the heart in his chest really is. Let’s see what he really thinks of you.

So, Joel you tell your constituents that you are not going to vote for it, you are going to cross the floor, you are going to represent the people of Hunter first and foremost. When those little bells ring and those little green lights flash, just walk into the chamber, toughen up and vote for Hunter.

Yes, I think this is an excellent plan. Otherwise the head count of Labor seats lost will be monumental.

Hi Barnaby,

Joel is too busy making meowing noises to take notice of his constituents. Thank you for all you are doing to discourage this dog of a tax.

Kind regards

Mark

Just while we are on the coal topic. the governenment has pounced on the macarthur takeover as evidence of some sort to support their tax.

It shows how little they know about business. The takeover was timed to take advantage of share price weakness caused by the carbon tax, mining tax , international uncertainty and also wariness by some foreign investors in the direction of Australian Politicial decision making.

The takeover is another possible example of Australia losing a key strategic asset due partly to poor government. One of the buyers is also a huge steel company so it is resource security and vertical integration to them. The cost of the carbon tax will be mainly added to mining costs rather than the end product cost so makes little difference to the end user.

Hi Barnaby. I doubt Joel Fitzgibbon is man enough to stand up to the party. He's a party man. He's not interested in the people he represents. Parashooed into daddys seat. Its a joke. We get bags of mail from his office telling us what a great job labour is doing for us and all its worth is tossing in the bin. As a retired coal miner I'm disgusted to even admit that I once was a strong labor supporter. They are a nothing party and will go the way the democrates went. The dissapeared ones. Labor, the greens small "g" and the three Amigo's are a disgrace to Australia.

In the words of a great politician;
"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the Atmosphere.
-- Thomas Jefferson, letter to Abigail Adams, 1787."

Thank you Mr. Joyce. we will resist this ridiculous tax untill labour is tossed out. Regards, Haz.

We desperately need a list of the most marginally held federal Labor seats.
This will enable us all to hammer them into crossing the floor.

f not, perhaps the harassment will result in the by-election that Joe Hockey has been desperately trying to talk up, with a Double Dissolution becoming a distinct possibility.

Is there not also at least some chance of Tony Abbott paying a visit to the Governor-General? A march on Parliament House after the long winter break?

I think most of the people have already had all they can take of Ju-liar and her Ju-lies, enough to last them a lifetime.

Labor/Green/Independents don't have a mandate from the people to apply a crippling Carbon Tax to their own nation. I consider this an act of treason.

With 70% of the people opposed to a TAX ON AIR, we haven't just given this government a negative answer with one little "N" and one little "O", but more of an emphatic:

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
