Senator Joyce says today that Labor's communityelection commitments are on shaky grounds. During Senate Estimates today, it became clear that some of the projects may not be able to satisfy the guidelines of the Community Infrastructure program.
"The promises of Labor members seem to be as shaky as the Prime Minister's promise to not introduce a carbon tax under agovernment she leads" said Senator Joyce today.
"Despite repeated questioning, the Department could give no guarantee that projects Labor said they would build, would be built.
"This is despite the Prime Minister saying last year in the House of Representatives that 'I do commit to keeping the promises at a local level that Labor and Labor candidates made at the last election’.”
In response to a question asked by Senator Joyce about funding under the Community Infrastructure Grants program Ms Beauchamp, Secretary of the Department of Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government responded:
Ms Beauchamp: we will be looking at the specific projects to see that they do pass the test around the ethical and proper use of Government funds.
Senator Joyce: and if they don’t?
Ms Beauchamp: If they don’t, they won’t be funded.

On 20thOctober last year the Prime Minister stated, in response to a question from the Member Andrew Wilkie:
“I do commit to keeping the promises at a local level that Labor and Labor candidates made at the last election, including the promises we made in the electorate of Denison. The reason I am able to say that with confidence is that during the election campaign we had a proper process of costing, which means we understood the costs of the promises that we were making. We made proper provision for them and we made proper provision for them in a context where the budget is coming back to surplus in 2012-13 and where across the election campaign our promises were matched by offsetting savings. Consequently I can say yes to the member for Denison with a degree of confidence.”

Barnaby....why would anyone be surprised with this incompetent govn.
Listening to Julia Gillard ..whether it be through ANY media is enough to frustrate the hell out of any ordinary person.
This woman has bought "waffling" to a new level..not to mention lies. !!
The voters of this Nation have had enough..
God.. someone "pull the rug out" from under someone in govn ...!!
Election.......please.

When I was watching Question Time in the House of Representatives today, Tony Abbott outlined various cost of living increases we have experienced in Queensland in the last 5 years.

In case anybody is in any doubt as to where the purchase of generic products is going, here is but one example:

In 2009, pensioners could purchase 1.2 kg of rolled oats to make their porridge for 99 cents. Then the price went up and down as the size of the package gradually decreased. Now it is costing $1.19 for only 750 g.

Generic products have frequently been given the green light on current affairs programs during the same time frame, but now we are also being shown how to budget our money in a miserly fashion, and taught to stretch our meat products at least twice as far.

If this is not proof that Labor doesn't give a rat's backside about our shrinking wallets and purses, or that the Chinese and other third world economies are thriving at our expense, I'm not sure what it will take to convince the electorate.

If you are doing it tough, my advice is to shop early in the day, before all of the "bargains" are gone!

When I was looking at housing prices a few days ago, I found a graph which showed incomes over the past few years. Instead of going up with the prices of basics such as food, rent and electricity, wages are going down!

At the same time as we are being sold the Global Warming myth and being held to ransom with a Tax on Air (!?), temperatures across the globe are plummeting.

Now that air traffic is being disrupted by a huge cloud of ash moving across Europe from the Icelandic volcano, I have to wonder if there are more elections on the horizon. I wonder who it was this time, that threw a couple more depth charges in, in order to collect the Profits of Doom from the guilty and the fearful.

BS Translated: she commits to making good the promises made at the last election (which she did not win) to the electorate of Denison, but they will only be honoured if and when the budget is in surplus AFTER 2013. I am sure that is not what was understood by Denison electors who, like the rest of the Labor voters, were conned.

Another day.....another woeful waste of money.
Desperate attempt.... from a desperate govn.
New "Climate Variability " video.....an attempt to "snare" the gulliable.!!
Cate Blanchett and Michael Caton... the two celebrities... "with no morals".!!
Con the ordinary Australian to feel "guilty" about their way of living.. while both living the high life (particularly Cate)...and NO stress paying their everyday bills.
What next......a "all star celebrity sing group".....like Whitlams era ????

Oh please ...just how stupid does Labor think we really are....!!

Don't worry, Shannon.

They will cut their own throats with this one. Too bad they are completely wasting so much of the taxpayers' BORROWED money.

At least 70% of the people have said no to a TAX ON AIR.
