“Well, now I have seen it all” says Senator Barnaby Joyce.  “What more proof do we need for an inland rail? Whilst driving to Moree via the inland rail route, I was stuck behind a truck and on the back of the truck was a rail coal container, complete with its steel wheels, ready to roll on a track. Whilst I have been waiting a couple more have gone past.”
Moree, has so many trucks passing through it, they are about to build a by pass, but in the meantime, there will be even more heavy traffic. It is ridiculous to think that it is better to take the coal wagons off the rails, put them on the back of a road train and drive on already over crowded roads. Apparently it must be more efficient than leaving it on the railway line, but this reflects the sad state of our rail infrastructure all over the nation.
The Labor Party should have been more provident with the money they wasted on the stimulus package and built the infrastructure this nation really needs like the inland rail.
We are supposed to be a smart nation. How smart is it when the straight line between Gladstone and Melbourne has been ignored and now even rolling stock for railway lines is being moved by road?
This Government claims that school halls solved the global financial crisis for Australia. Yet now with in excess of $144 billion in debt they have failed to build even the most obvious and essential  infrastructure for the future of our nation , such as inland rail, preferring instead to go for ceiling insulation and school halls.

Yes, that's true. Labor is probably waiting for a private company to build the necessary infrastructure for rail, instead of doing it themselves.

Last night I attended the forum "Make Poverty History" at the Brisbane Girls' Grammar School.

When asked about foreign debt, Arch Bevis (Labor MP) said ours was among the lowest of the OECD countries, but neglected to mention that pretty much everyone has a whacking big debt and rising.

He also said that Labor will indulge in a 100% bilateral forgiveness scheme for eligible countries. He mentioned a Debt to Health Swap with Indonesia. I took this to mean that if they spend the amount they owe us on the Health of their people, the debt will be expunged.

I'd say this is the latest ramification of the Lima Declaration in action.

Since the forum seems to have been put on by The Greens and will be travelling to various electorates, I didn't fail to notice that they have amassed a small following of young, idealistic (sometimes very arrogant) young people, who do not listen to reason. Trust me, this is very common in destructive cults.

I told them that a Carbon Trading Scheme would not benefit governments or people, but will financially empower large corporations. This was generally a discussion ender. Some people even had the bad manners to walk away.

As a result of joining the European Economic Union, Greece is already in a type of Global Bank Receivership with the IMF. Now Spain is teetering on the brink of a similar economic failure, with loss of income and jobs for residents. According to a news report today, the UK may not be far behind.

If this doesn't convince the vast majority of Australian voters to avoid political parties which support a Carbon Trading Scheme, I don't know what will.

Lorikeet, why not be a National party candiate in your electoral seat at the next election. Somewhere in Brisvegas? You do have alot to say. Greens, has always been nothing more then a vote for Labor. This coming election will show how much Australia wants to waste away. If you smoke the green stuff &/or on other gear, you'll end up voting Green. Addicts/Degenerates are becoming the norm, society will allow degenerates to continue to rule this country. Australian business/government imports people to be the next generation of working families?/addicts/Degenerates! What a Freedom?

Simon:

You certainly seem to have a good handle on what The Greens are about. The Socialist Alliance seems to be exactly the same, and they preference one another.

Unfortunately The Greens are rising up in this country, and approval of Liberals and Labor is not very good at all, although I think more people will vote for Liberals at the forthcoming election.

Thank you for your suggestion in relation to running for the parliament. The LNP has Peter Dutton as incumbent in the seat of Dickson where I live.

At one time he was afraid of being beaten by the Labor school teacher at the next election, but at the rate that Rudd is going down in the polls, I think he could probably put his feet up. Last time Dutton only beat her by a hair.

If you can rake up someone willing to block with me as an Independent for the Senate, I can certainly work with Barnaby and some others to knock the Carbon Trading Scheme on the head.

We also have a terrible culture of alcoholism which needs to be dealt with very quickly, and so many other problems, it would be hard to know where to start.

Someone from The Greens told me that Anna Bligh is going to establish Queensland as an Independent State in July 2010. I'm not sure if that's true, but if she starts heading in that direction, I think the state governments could be abolished in favour of Regional Councils, which might then receive some kind of constitutional power.

Either that or someone has drawn the line through Goondiwindi and intends to give the northern half of Australia (including the whole of Queensland) to marauders from the north.

We certainly live in extremely worrying times.

Lorikeet, A DVD for you to watch. Its a doco? so you can make up your our mind from it. A film by Marc Levin PROTOCOLS OF ZION. It may help for a peace of mind. Your views in the past, have gone on about a New World Order/Party/Bank? with the farce of a carbon-free society as its front. Interseting Signs of coincidences are have been occurring of late, if you haven't noticed. The most obvious one, Overseas - Israel's ever increasing cheek since the gulf wars, and at Home recently, with the BIG4 on the labor's front bench, resembles a secret lot within a democratic party? Is this the Australian way or someone else's agenda in mind. A Future with debt weakens our freedom.

Thank you, Simon. I will see if I can get my hands on that video.

There are plenty of conspiracy theories going around, so I prefer to look at the global agreements that have been signed, and to pay close attention to matters such as the deliberate sellout of Australian citizens, farmers and small businessmen, together with selloff of income producing assets and utilities.

I am also considering various new plans to manoeuvre farmers off their land and suburbanites into high density housing, as per Agenda 21.

The idea of a carbon-free world is really dumb. Nearly everything is made from carbon, including people, animals, trees, crops, housing etc.

Sorry, Simon, I also meant to add that the Democratic Labor Party doesn't believe that the global problem is caused by Jews.

I've heard all kinds of interesting theories, including this one.

Jewish bankers moved to the USA prior to WWII, and then paid Hitler to finish off all Jews to eliminate financial competition.

There are certainly a number of very wealthy Jewish families around. I think these include Rockefeller, Rothschild ... sorry, can't think of the others.

All we really need to know is that the purveyors of a Carbon Trading Scheme and the Copenhagen Treaty wish to rule the world by robbing us blind through every available avenue.

Absolutely - just consider the energy use of rail vs road transport/tonne.

Then look at the relative construction, maintenance costs and space required per km of road vs rail. Let's not go near the relative road vs rail toll, time wasted stuck behind trucks, consequent dangerous overtaking etc etc.

Govts should borrow at soverign rates to finance necessary inter-generational infrastucture. Then please keep such 'conduits' (electricity generation and grids, railway lines, water pipes, spectrum etc) in public hands, letting private operators run the services, either at a profit or with an agreed subsidy, in the case of city rail. If they go broke, they don't take the infrastructure out with them. This enables another operator to then readily takeover and continue the service, delivering efficient economic value for all.

Chris:

I don't think it's a good idea to let private operators run the transport system. When the government collects fares, the money services the rail network.

Private operators will expect government to provide the infrastructure through the taxation system (or even more borrowing), while the private operator snatches all of the bounty which would normally be used for maintenance and extensive of the service. They are certain to charge us even higher transport costs.

Every time something is privatised e.g. Commonwealth Bank, electricity, water, gas, rail and ports, someone else is creaming off the proceeds the government needs to provide pensions, social security and numerous other public services.

Communist Queen Gillard will privatise public Education and Health. Some large corporation will collect, collect and collect. You will pay at least twice - through taxation and fees. The way things are going you could easily end up paying a third time ... this time with your life.

Simon:

Living with peace in your heart is not going to bring about the massive changes we need in government.

We all need to get off our butts and do something to stop Julia Gillard and Bob Brown from flushing us all down the toilet.

I just hope we don't finish up with a Liberals/Greens coalition instead!
