On SKY News today I was asked about the Government's announcement that agriculture will be exempted from the ETS. It was not included anyway. Is this concession enough? At the start we had a ridiculous massive tax that was never going to change the temperature of the globe. Now we have a partial exemption of agriculture. It is merely a gesture that will change nothing. It is still on inputs, it is still on food production. We have to go to core principles, will this tax change the temperature of the globe? No, we must wait until after Copenhagen and see what the rest of the world does. It is a ridiculous tax and I will not be voting for it. If agriculture is out, someone else will have to pay.
