The latest piece by the Greens that Cyclone Yasi is caused by climate change, on the back of the Greens blaming the floods on coal mining, is incredulous as much as it is contemptible.

Deputy Leader Christine Milne said that cyclone Yasi was a “tragedy of climate change” and another reason we needed a carbon tax.

I hate to suggest a web address but a good summary of cyclones in Queensland is http://www.windworker.com.au/qldcyclones.htm.

Maybe the Greens can now tell us what caused each one of these events back to the early 1800’s as they are obviously self endowed with the omnipotent capacity to do so.

In the mean time I wish with everyone in the southern part of our State the best of luck, prayers and whatever it takes to cope in the North with the coming hours to protect life. I wish everyone the strength to carry on through the days getting the basics back together and then the months repairing.
