Peter Spencer has said in a radio interview on day 44 of his hunger strike that he is not feeling too bad but his determination to continue not to eat is causing distress. While supporters will him on in his fight for justice the human side of his course of action means it will end in one way and that is not a good outcome.

There have been calls for Peter to be forcibly removed from his Tower of Hope. This adds to the distress surrounding the situation. I have climbed the tower and asked him to end his hunger strike. At the Canberra rally yesterday I urged him again to climb down.

Peter knows we are going to fight this issue right through but we need him to be fighting with us, not inspiring as a memory.

The Prime Minister has time to write a book for children and but he needs to make some time to listen to what the Australian people are saying. They are starting to say they have had enough of being signed up to international agreements where the Prime Minister gets the kudos or the happy clapping in Bali or some conference. The bill has been sent straight to working families, the bill is coming home to the family farm.

This problem exists because the Government has stolen farmers’ assets and that is obscene when the Government becomes a thief. This action has another name and without being too dramatic that is communism.

With Australia’s Federal debt approaching $120 billion there is not much in the kitty to compensate farmers so the alternative is to revisit the native vegetation laws. If you can’t pay for it, you should give it back.
