FEDERAL Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce has extended his congratulations to the Member for Northern Tablelands, Adam Marshall and the NSW Nationals for “delivering yet again”, with announcements of $90 million for hospital upgrades in Armidale and Inverell.

“It’s great to see the Nationals delivering yet again and I’d like to congratulate Adam Marshall for the great work undertaken in making sure this vital piece of infrastructure for the New England will be funded,” Mr Joyce said.

“It goes to show what happens when you are part of a government as opposed to a commentator about a government -whether it’s a $60 million redevelopment for Armidale Hospital, $30 million for Inverell Hospital, the upgrade of the Armidale airport, or in excess of $5 million for the Mt Lindesay Highway between Legume and Woodenbong,” he said.

Mr Joyce also cited The Nationals’ success in ensuring the Bolivia Hill realignment would be allocated in excess of $50 million, $3.3 million for the Tenterfield Bypass project, the Chaffey Dam augmentation project, $705,000 for the upgrade of the Abington Bridge in the Uralla Shire and $500,000 for the Ashford Medical Centre.

“Add to the mix, record prices being set in the saleyards for sheep and cattle, concessional loans and financial assistance set aside for drought support, money being set aside for on-farm water infrastructure and the near completion of a $220 million major redevelopment for the Tamworth Hospital and you can see the Nationals are delivering.”
