Joyce calls for recognition of outstanding young adults

19 March 2014

FEDERAL Member for New England Barnaby Joyce has called for nominations to recognise the outstanding achievements of the nation’s young adults.

The search for the 2014 Junior Chamber International Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (JCI TOYP) program has begun, and Mr Joyce was confident young people from across the New England Electorate could be among the world’s top honourees.

“Nominations are now open for 2014 JCI TOYP, recognising the achievements of young people in categories ranging from business accomplishments and humanitarian efforts to outstanding leadership, medical and cultural achievements,” Mr Joyce said.

“We want Australia to be well-represented at this inspirational international program that honours young people who excel in their field.

“We know that our exceptional youth can act as role models for other young people around the world.

The program recognises young people who excel in their chosen fields and exemplify the best attributes of the world’s young people.  By recognising these young leaders, JCI encourages them and others to strive for excellence and serve others.

“If you know an outstanding young person in your local community, I encourage you to nominate them for the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award”, Mr Joyce said.

National nominations received will be entered into the International JCI TOYP Program.  The nomination form for JCI TOYP can be found online at www.jciaustralia.org.au/toyp or by emailing toyp@jciaustralia.org.au and must be completed no later than midnight, 30 April 2014.
