The recent decision by Federal Agriculture Minister, Mr Peter McGauran, to provide a funding grant to BioCane Limited is welcome news for Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce.

Senator Joyce made representations to Minister McGauran following visits to the company’s Sunshine Coast operation and felt the potential for export success was too large not to get in and lend a hand.

“When it was suggested cow candy could generate up to $30 million per annum in export income, not just for the Sunshine Coast but across the entirety of the Australian agricultural industry, my support for the initiative was a no brainer,” Senator Joyce said.

“Minister McGauran has approved up to $1.27 million for BioCane Limited and this funding is sure to boost the sugar industry, especially in the Sunshine Coast region,” he said.

With several clients in countries like Japan and Korea, it’s only a matter of time before beef and dairy cattle all over the world start reaping the benefits of Australian CowCandy.
