Queensland Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce will rally with South Australian wheat growers next week to highlight the need to retain the country’s Single Desk wheat marketing system.

In conjunction with SA Nationals and local farmers, Senator Joyce will pull together all affected by the current debate surrounding the future of the Single Desk.

“I urge all locals to come out in support of our wheat growers next week and to send a clear message to Canberra, a message that articulates the Nationals’ strong and unequivocal belief in the current system of marketing our nation’s wheat exports”, Senator Joyce said.

Senator Joyce will be accompanied by South Australian Nationals Leader, Mrs Kaylene Maywald, and Nationals state candidate for Flinders, Hank Swalue.

All roads lead to Wudinna on the Eyre Peninsula on Tuesday 14 March, 2006 at 9.30am.
