This week in politics

05

Apologies to Steve Truman from Agmates TV and to all interested in our discussion but we have had to reschedule this interview to a date to be announced. However, we still want  your questions so please let me or Steve know of any topics you would like us to discuss.

These are some of the topics Steve wants to raise:

1. What are your thoughts on the Rudd Governments $43 billion dollar broadband plan, especially  that 10% of Australians who live in small rural & regional towns across Australia will miss out?

2. What are you thoughts on the Rudd governments back down on the Emissions Trading Scheme. What are the implications for rural & regional Australia. Has it improved the outlook for these areas or is it just a temporary stay of execution for our farmers and rural communities?

3. Why is the Rudd government spending $100 Billion to expand our military on the premise that we need to protect ourselves from China when we are looking at selling a large part of our resources wealth to them?

We also want to hear from you so submit your questions to Agmates TV.

1)I think rural Australia have missed out again...computer and communication coverage more important than cities..due to distance between populations.
2)Thank God they have ..to date...I think the whole Scheme is a total disadvantage to Australia..and should be permanentely shelved, particularly in the current climate.
For what its worth I support you Barnaby...climate change is the biggest hoax since the y2 bug !!!....and a number of smart people are pushing it to make huge money.
3)I dont disagree on expansion of the military...but the timing is political.
My thought this is a "knee jerk reaction" to the boat people saga..and Im firmly convinced that an early Election will be called before September.
I think Rudd is "ticking all the boxes " in readiness for the above
Barnaby push Turnbull or he is going to "miss the boat".
After the Budget is announced ...the Labor Party will be in Election mode.!!
Keep up the great work.

Following on from your Agmates blog
"ETS Enters Twilight Zone"
I found reported in the Australian 9/05/09,(today)
an article titled "Why green leaders backed the carbon plan" by Greg Roberts

It appears that the ACF, WWF, Climate Institute, ACTU and ACOSS have formed the 'Southern Cross Climate Coalition', and at a meeting in Canberra 3/05/09 have made agreement on 25% carbon reduction (can be altered by Sen P. Wong) and could be presented to the Copenhagen conference in Dec 09.
I have blogged this on Agmates today.
Keep up the good work, I feel your one of our only hopes.

Question 2:

I think Rudd's backdown on the ETS is just a red herring to put us off the scent of his complicity in a global agenda.

Yes, it's a temporary stay of execution of sorts (mostly pretend), but plans to execute our primary and secondary industries are continuing at a rapid pace.

Question 3:

Just more pretence. Rudd will be importing defence equipment and components from Asia, and continuing to build their economies at the expense of our own.

China takes our resources.

It sells them back to us after bolstering its own secondary industries, placing us further in debt.

It's a WIN/WIN situation for them, and a LOSE/LOSE situation for our economy and our workers.

I never thought I'd see the day when I would consider the Liberal Party irrelevant. Having voted Liberal most of my adult life, I must say that Malcolm Turnbull has turned me off completely with his statements the other day on backing the ETS scheme. In my eyes I now consider him to be in the same camp as the Alarmists and their push to have a one world goverment for which Australia will be outnumbered by billions of other voters.
I must say I and family will be backing you when the next election comes around, whether sooner or later.
