“There has arrived a sequel to Traveston Dam that verges on pathos. Chapter 1: Ms Bligh’s best defence of this profligate waste of money and foreshadowed theft, is screaming at people from the chamber. The Traveston Dam was never properly researched with any substantial engineering or hydrological survey work before making a multi-billion dollar decision with your money to construct their stinking swamp in what is prime agricultural land behind Gympie. Chapter 2: Labor party lift $4 billion dollars from south-east Queensland Councils by demanding to get for $2 for what is worth $6 for the dams and water assets that the councils own.
“Why is it every time the Labor party come around for dinner, the silverware disappears? Whether it’s the Labor theft of the vegetation rights from land owners; the charging for water that never turns up in Part A licenses, by the way is taking from St George alone approximately $150 000 a month from a drought starved community for water that the state Labor government could never deliver. And now the minor issue of where $4 billion worth of assets of south-east Queensland rate payers are disappearing to? If you didn’t laugh you’d cry. This Labor government has become a thief because they cannot manage money.
“It’s a Labor government demanding to receive an asset at a price of its choosing, lucky they are not ‘buying’ your house, or should I say, not ‘buying’ it yet. Now it’s the lifting of the dams from the south-east corner of Queensland. Make sure if the Labor party are coming to visit you that their pockets are sewn up, their hands are insight at all times and you don’t let them near any of the drawers. They are in a league of their own when it comes to, let’s say, ‘moving things along’.
“They have a strong motivation for their issues with ownership and compensation and this is due to their complete fiscal ineptitude and the monstrous debt that is quickly building up and will reach $50 billion by 2010. They couldn’t run a chook raffle at a pub on a Friday night without stealing half the chook themselves, sticking back the bones and pocketing a drumstick and stating, what they are selling tickets for is a poultry extravaganza, and by the way, the money would go missing.” Senator Joyce said.
