NATIONALS’ Senator Barnaby Joyce, today campaigning in the Far North with Nationals’ candidate Ian Crossland, says the reason the Labor Party has not released a tax policy is because they don’t have one.

Senator Joyce said Labor was desperately going grey in the back room trying to put a tax policy together before Sunday.

“The reason Labor doesn’t want to debate on Sunday is because it doesn’t think it will have the details bedded down by then.

“Labor could have absolutely trumped the Liberal-Nationals Coalition by placing its tax policy on the table five minutes after ours, proving to one and all it had everything squared away, that it was well oiled, not just slick.

Senator Joyce said it was vitally important you got the economic hard work done before you went for the glitz and glamour of a dot.com T-shirt.

“The pressure is now on the Labor team of Rudd, Swan and Gillard to table, for the Australian people, their economic blueprint or, by its absence, acknowledge to one and all they don’t have one."

Senator Joyce said while out and about in the Far North, he was also fascinated to hear about Labor’s road policy.

“Brisbane is about to disappear into a motorist's version of Watership Downs yet the north gets nothing.

“Maybe Labor’s candidate up here would like to comment on this. However, we can be assured his comments will be vetted, re-vetted, streamlined, focus grouped and sent around the block for a cup of coffee before he will be allowed to open his mouth.

“Very slick and awfully boring.” Senator Joyce said.
