Senator Joyce was travelling from Brisbane to St George when he heard the news of Mr Zemanek passing away after a battle with a brain tumour.

“I am saddened to hear of the passing of Stan. I had the great opportunity in appearing on his talkback show late last year and I have always enjoyed Stan’s presence on the airwaves for the last 20 years.

“Although some people didn’t always agree with Stan on some issues, Stan never gave in to popular belief and was always passionate about his stance on an issue.

“Stan covered a spectrum of issues on his radio programs and on his show ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and this gave all Australians a chance to voice their opinions and concerns.

“I want to pass on my condolences to his wife Marcella and their children Gaby and Melissa and also to Stan and Marcella’s grandchildren. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
