Queensland Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce has welcomed today’s announcement of a 9 September state election stating Queenslanders now have the opportunity to remove the incompetence of the Beattie Labor Government from the Treasury benches.

Senator Joyce has witnessed first hand the increased support for Opposition Leader, Lawrence Springborg, and his strong Coalition team.

“My travels around the state have allowed me the opportunity to speak with many different people. The vast majority are ready for a change and believe Lawrence and his team have the capacity to get the basics right on health, water and infrastructure,” Senator Joyce said.

“By Christmas everything in your garden, between your front door and the road, will be a fair indication of Labor management without hope: no water for your garden because they did not plan for water, a health system which appears terminal and the complete disrespect for property owners’ right of ownership.

“It is not my fight but I ask Queensland to please support an alternative National / Liberal Coalition to the current Labor fiasco,” he said.
