While flicking through the media this morning, Queensland Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce read with interest reports claiming the Labor Party were responsible for the inception of the Senate Inquiry into petrol pricing.

The Inquiry was in fact pursued vigorously by the Nationals over a long period of time and Senator Joyce played a significant role in this.

Petrol prices have been the centre of much debate all over the country in recent months and the Nationals want to ensure the product and the process meet best practice standards for all Australian consumers.

With ever increasing costs for basic life expenses, the Nationals believe it is imperative all should be done to reduce the impact on Australian families.
