This week in politics

14

So the Greens, that are part of the government of our nation, have taken to sanctioning the destruction of public property and showing disrespect for science and evidence based research.

This morning ACT Greens MLA Shane Rattenbury has said in response to the destruction of an experimental CSIRO genetically modified wheat crop:

“It’s always very controversial these sorts of actions, but you have to stand up for what you believe in sometimes.”

I hope the whipper snippers they used were carbon neutral, and if they were not, they will have to visit the carbon confessional in Bob Brown's comcar.

Sometimes they like the science, sometimes they don't. The silence is deafening from Bob Brown and Lee Rhiannon but just imagine the hue and cry that would be emanating from these Delphic oracles if the farmers and the miners had decided to launch themselves on a full frontal attack on a university or a government department.

In fact, I think I can remember Bob Brown saying something about those who threatened scientists in the past, and I agreed with him on that point.

There might be something amusing about this but the scary thing is that these people are running our nation.

I think the idea of growing genetically modified foods could prove dangerous to people's health and eventually lead to starvation.

For example, while the general public might prefer seedless grapes, the seeds contain a powerful anti-oxidant and anti-carcinogenic compound.

If GM crops are sprayed with Roundup and then harvested too soon, this could lead to large scale poisoning of the masses and cause damage to their central nervous systems.

The growing of GM crops requires the purchase of new seed every year, generally from the same company selling the Roundup, at enormous cost to farmers.

I also heard there were also problems with cross-seeding between GM and non-GM crops.

However the Greens could have allowed harvesting of the existing crop, if they were actually serious about feeding the people and reducing waste. The last I heard was that world wide supply of wheat was being outstripped by increasing demand.

It also seems to me that the same people who want to impose an even larger TAX ON AIR (Greens) without a mandate from voters, also want to make emergency calls to police because a respectably dressed man is walking down a public footpath, standing out in the open in broad daylight, and not hurting anyone.

It seems that these people also want to take away Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Association and Freedom of Assembly, even if there is only one person!

They only believe in Science if it coincides with their way of thinking. And they don't believe in Science with a different view like those who do not believe in Global Warming. They just want topush their own ajenda and it does not matter to them if they wreck peoples livelihoods.

Senator Joyce,

In the last line of your Media Release of 14 July 2001, you stated, "There might be something amusing about this but the scary thing is that these people are running our nation". I think "ruining" in stead of "running" would be more appropriate.

Bob Brown should be forced to stop spouting carbon dioxide lies, and row a boat from Tasmania to the Mainland instead of flying in aeroplanes, so that he keeps his carbon dioxide output to a minimum!
Brown is a typical of communists they just wants the power of being the BOSS!

I thought Lord Christopher Monckton easily won today's Carbon Tax debate at the National Press Club.

For those who wish to email the Labor MPs who are mostly likely to cross the floor and vote against a Tax on Air, here is a block of email addresses to copy into your address bar:

The greens/labor and the truth are strangers. The only honorable thing for Gillard/Brown to do is to resign. This act would show that the Labor party is returning to its duty of putting the wishes of the Australian people before their own despotic desire for power.
