LABOR'S ENVIRONMENTAL TRAVESTY

Senator Joyce said today that the approval by Ms Bligh for the go ahead of the Traveston Dam shows her unauthentic environmental concerns and her complete political duplicity.
Ms Bligh worries about runoff to the Great Barrier Reef in North Queensland but she is prepared to completely block off any runoff from the Mary River and change the entire ecosystem of that part of the coast.
Ms Bligh screams about those who doubt global warming then happily sells off coal mining leases like hot cakes. Ms Bligh is determined to reduce carbon emissions but refuses to talk about nuclear power. Ms Bligh plays a micro-political game to an ever-reducing constituency that still see her as relevant.
The Traveston Dam now remains with Federal Minister Peter Garrett to either stop, or if approved, condemn Queensland to one of the greatest wastes of public funds, and believe me that’s saying something, in the term of this Labor Government.
The Traveston Dam, apart from being completely environmentally incongruous to the protection of some of the rarest fauna on the Australian East coast, will be an engineering bog and another financial Pythonesque master stroke to the most flawed set of financial books of any state in the nation.
Traveston Dam is yet another reflection of the beggar borrowing big to buy gold taps for the mouldy bathroom. That is the Labor Party mentality; they have no idea about the worth of money and they have a 100% strike rate wherever they are in,making sure the consequences of their administration of the public funds is financial oblivion.

We spend quite a bit of time around Noosa, and having taken critical interest in the Traveston Dam scheme, can now only hope that Canberra will reject it.
