From aboard his ship, Aurora Australis, somewhere on the Southern Ocean, Queensland Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce has made a call to express his support for those North Queenslanders affected by Tropical Cyclone Larry.
Senator Joyce, on a voyage to Antarctica as a part of his responsibilities on the Senate National Capital and External Territories Committee, made the call to his office in St George this morning requesting an update on Cyclone Larry.
Senator Joyce said he was saddened to hear of the loss and devastation endured by those in Larry’s path.
“I understand the damage caused by Larry is quite substantial and I wish all North Queenslanders the very best as they attempt to re-build following this devastating event,” Senator Joyce said.
“I urge all Queenslanders to pull together to do whatever is possible to provide these people with the assistance they need at this trying time.”
