Well, the title is certainly interesting. Good luck, Senator Joyce!
There seem to be only a few sensible voices to be heard in Australia these days and you are definitely one of them.
I personally think that many Australian politicians need refresher courses in democracy. All of the (labour held) eastern states of Australia - NSW and VICTORIA in particular, but also QLD to a certain extent - seem to be pretty much basket cases. Shockingly poor management, really. I'm sure that, if those states had NO GOVERNMENTS AT ALL, they wouldn't be any worse off!
There are many wise and intelligent citizens however who have the best interests of Australia at heart - if only these governments were true to the real principles of democracy and LISTENED to what the PEOPLE want.

Senator Joyce, I voted (and I am sure many others did) for Kevin Rudd at the last election because he told me he was a financial conversative.

Now we see this fabricator of a litany of lies show his true colours and proceed to send Australia, and the Australian people broke with no benefit.

If the rumoured $50 billion deficit is a fact the Labour Government should be cast from Office and transposed to the nearest jail.

Good luck, rip them to pieces as usual. At least you won't have to put up with the out of touch and arrogant David "everything was a conspiracy theory under Howard" Marr, on this weeks show!

Hear, hear, Sydney! The 'litany of lies' shows his utter contempt for the Australian electorate. His only goal is to promote himself on the world stage and secure a cushy UN job (the pensions there are very good) after his term is up.

Kevin Rudd just reminds me of so many Labor politicians before him. Keating, Richardson, Evans, all of them had massive egos that took preference once they'd lied their way into office.

I don't think much more of the past Liberal mob either but at least they went to each election with a clear statement of what they would do if elected and they stuck to it. Unfortunately, that included selling virtually all of our national infrastructure to the Asians and our mineral deposits to virtually anybody with enough cash.

All of them are short-sighted and dangerous when they get into power.

What this country really needs is a 50 YEAR PLAN.

I respect Barnaby, but alas, it seems we are ruined, and the present Labour Govt. is only the facilitator, but not the cause of our woes. As a Bible reader I see time and again how God delivered Israel up to oppressors when she departed from Him and sinned grieviously.

As a country that is "humbly relying on the blessings of Almighty God" [Preamble to Constitution] we seem to be suffering a similar fate. Since righteousness exalts a nation, and parliamentary sessions still commmence with prayer surely it is time to take God seriously. PLANS of any kind will not help us if we continue in our mad departure from Scriptural principles.

You mean 'democracy in the style of Comrade Rudd'?!
A PM who believes it is more important to discuss Australia's new blueprint for Defence with the Chinese BEFORE it is discussed with the Australian Opposition party?!
A PM who would keep Joel Fitzgibbon in the Defence department, even after he has shown himself to be so cosy with the Chinese mnilitary?
Australians seem to have run out of Smart Pills - god help them!!

Let's hope the audience isn't stacked with Labor supporters this week - now there's a challenge for the ABC!!!

We have a control freak as PM who is no where near an economic conservative but is a pure socialist who wants bigger government and
control over our lives. The only security we have with his decisions is
through the power of the senate. Keep strong Barnaby

Well done on the show, you were the only person who spoke any sense and spoke about the core of the issues, not just the 'perfect world' stuff. I found great respect for you tonight.

Yes, very well done Barnaby. I can't believe how the other members of the panel really don't comprehend what the most serious issues are that face us. You were clear on the point of Global warming. Our extent of damage is minimal in regards to our small population compared to the US and the resulting damage that will ensue to our economy will be long lasting. To undertake such drastic measures for so little results is not right. Peter Garrett can rave on all about fixing Global warming but his income, family and home won't be affected. When he's voted out we'll need a bloke not a politician but a fair dinkum bloke like you to help create a new economy with employment. You are in touch with the grass roots of it all because you really are one of us. This other lot just don't get it do they Barnaby ol mate?

Good job on Q and A, Barnaby. A pity TJ wouldn't let you get a word in, especially on global warming... he had to let Garrett control that topic, of course. You are one gutsy politician. Hats off to you, mate.

Sincere congratulations Barnaby on a very impressive performance in demonstrating common sense on Q&A last night. Those Greenies are dangerous and very frightening with their dogma and absolute refusal to accept that they could be wrong in their views on global warming. Keep up the good fight to keep Australians awake to the loony tunes of this world.

Well done on Q & A Barnaby
Thanks for provided a good hard hitting logical response to Peter Garrett’s strange ideas.
Mr Rudd is allowing his ministers to mislead Australians unashamedly, and the sad thing is that like religious fundamentalists, they genuinely believe in themselves.
The fraudulent to use of the terms “carbon pollution” and “climate change” say it all.
I certainly hope with your help that people will become more rational. Keep up the good work.

Was sitting off to your left at last nights show. It was great to see a coalition member showing leadership and to have an opinion not just holding true to the coalition party line.

Well done! Cheers, Sydneysider

As one of the Illawarra steelworkers who may lose a job if the carbon scheme goes full ball thanks for sticking up for us. It seems that due to the vanishing amount of us working in manufacturing our interests seem to slide right on under the radar when decisions like this are made. The green and interest groups shout hardest and loudest and we suffer cause our point doesn't get placed. Where's the balance?
Fist time I've heard people at work saying something a politican said made them want to vote National!

Mr Joyce, your clear lack of respect for fellow politicians was on full display on Q&A last night. I find it incomprehensible that you would regard another senator as quote "airy fairy" and have a similar position on climate change.
Are you scared, that the Greens Party will usurp the National Party as the third largest contingent of parliament? Your attitude and proffessionalism was disgraceful and reflected heavily on the National party, clearly yourself and your party is out of touch with modern society. I hope you do not treat your staff like you spoke to Senator Hanson Young. I would expect a formal apology to Ms Hanson Young next time you sit for question time.

Ashleigh..bet you are all of 25yrs..and Green around the ears !! When you mature and experience the everyday "Life Experiences" or the 'Commonsense" that comes with age you might come to understand what Barnaby was stating on Q&A was 100% correct.
He owes noone an apology ..least of all Sarah Hanson-Young ..typical "know it all Green".
For what it is worth ..I am a scientist and think that climate change has sucked people like you and others in,big time.!!
Yes, some shrewd business people are going to make "mega bucks' out of all this 'garbage".
Dont change Barnaby ,god knows Australia needs you. to get us out of the pityful mess we are sliding deeper into. With you all the way !!.

Well said, Shannon! Thanks for every word of your posting! The majority of Australians seem to have abandoned commonsense in every way, shape and form. I think they are in denial about just how THIRD WORLD the country has become, in so many aspects. Keep up the good work, Barnaby. You did a great job on Q&A!

And by the way Ashleigh if you do wish to nick pick and complain that Barnaby called Ms Hanson "airy fairy" I seem to recall her telling Senator Joyce to "get his head out of the sand".

Perhaps Barnaby Joyce should get an apology also.

I was completely appauled at Senator Joyce's performance on Q and A. Even if you don't agree with people's opinions, show a bit of respect and here them out. Young people are the future of this country so I think it's pretty important to listen to what they have to say.

People who agree with Barnaby Joyce's opinions on climate change do need to get their "heads out of the sand" and stop thinking in the old way that the planet can support our continued plundering. How can pumping millions of chemicals into the atmosphere not have an effect? GIVE THE PLANET THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT!

Kelly, guess you are another under 25yrs,easy convinced person as well.
Yes the younger people are the future of the country..but you have missed my point..
The mature and senior people of today have the wisdom and life experience to know that what has been taught to the majority of people today are still....just theory predictions...
Everything in life is not..BLACK and WHITE.....there is a GREY area as well. Dont believe all you are told. The scientists and the professors teaching in Universities are really convincing ...unfortunately a large percentage or them are "all theory and have no practical skills"
Take Note : You can BEND statistics whichever way suits your political or personal agenda.
This topic is worth "big money" and has nothing to do with the state of the planet.
Smart people work on young peoples emotions ..and that is your weakness.

Thanks for the opportunity Senator and to further the thoughts of Greg. It is a fact that the Rudd Government could be creating the biggest white elephant and financial disaster seen in Australia's history.

It is a fact that unless they (the Rudd Mob) develop legislation to destroy Telstra the FTTH will fail. Only problem for the Government is the Australian people will be awake if the FTTH is made a monopoly without competition.

To be homest I believe that this $43 billion venture by Mr Rudd could prove to be the issue that will see the Rudd Government as a one term wonder.

Ashleigh:

As a person who has been educated in Social Psychology and Group Dynamics - also Mind Control and Manipulation - related to past work with people leaving destructive cults, I ask you to look further at The Greens' true agenda.

They want to wipe out the livestock industries, reduce the size of the food growing area, cut Australia's population by 2/3, and adopt a One Child policy. Does that remind you of anyone? A little hint ... maybe those who are trying to kneecap our economy and buy us out?

The Greens support an ambitious Emissions Trading Scheme that will further send us down the toilet in relation to trade/economy, at a time when China already has us by the short and curlies and has NO CARBON TAX in place.

Whose side are The Greens on? Please think it through.

If you consider yourself (as The Greens do) to be only an animal, can we expect to see you at the local Council's next Snip'n'Chip clinic?

If you don't want drugs tested on animals, will your name be at the top of the list of Human Volunteers?

If 2/3 of the population has to go, have you put your hand up to be first?

Okay ... I thought not.

Too bad I live in WA and can't vote for you Barnaby. And to Ashleigh....yes, the future of Australia is in the hands of your generation. I'm just glad that this ageing bloke won't be here to 'experience' it!
