The opportunists in the Australian Democrats were again defeated yesterday when they attempted to introduce a notice of motion to remove Parliamentary Prayers says Queensland Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce.

Senator Joyce is of the strong view that prayers at the beginning of each sitting day are a must.

“Unfortunately, they seem to be scared of the very Christian-Judaic society that has given us all our freedoms,” Senator Joyce said.

“Prayers are a positive way to start the day. They provide all who attend with an opportunity to give thanks and praise for all the wonderful things in our lives and our country,” he said.

“This quiet time of reflection should remind us all that while our roles in Parliament come with huge responsibility, we are only a small part of the big picture,” he said.
