Barnaby's Blog

22

You have to admire a man who will get in front of a camera and espouse his views, whatever your politics. Steve Truman who runs the Agmates website has launched Agmates TV. It's not particularly beautiful (sorry Steve!) but it's bold. Take a look as this is what technology means. You too can have a television studio at home.

G'day Barnaby,

Thanks for the plug. Not offended by your 'not particularly beautiful' comment, I'm a realist, you have to be 'when you have a head as rough as mine.' :)

Perhaps the next time your in Brisbane, we could do a short interview / chat for Agmates TV?

Cheers, Agmate founder - Steve Truman.

Steve, I just had look at Agmates and would encourage you to keep it up. it was infomative and on the pulse.

Its great to see the bushies getting into the tecnology and using it as a means of having a say.

Seems that the bushies havent had a forum of late to get their issues heard and now they have.

All the best
Danny

Hi Barnaby and Steve - as I said, look out Austar and Foxtel, here comes Agmates TV (good one, Steve you're full of big surprises!)
How is the Chinalco protest petition going Barnaby? I had a column on the topic in Agmates and The Observer last weekend and plan to re-visit it this weekend. The unions here are naturally very worried and want the deal to proceed, but wait til the Wongster's ETS hits our lifeblood industries (if she gets it up, which is doubtful).

Dear Steve, 2 issues yoiu could programme. 1. A friend of mine and Allan Yeomans has been trying for 15 months to get the ABC to interview Allan and has received nothing but brick walls. Reason unknown but I guess its politics and governmental policy of giving the public the mushroom compost treatment - keep in a dark place and cover it all with horse..... and oxoplasm [the product that comes out of the south end of a good quality bull facing north with his head in a bucket of good quality grain]. 2 Why has the ABC and most media degenerated into the propaganda wings of the governments ? I am 78 and known the ABC for that long. It used to be apolitical but sadly it is now anything but, using all of the best opf the much researched psychological methods. I have listed lots of examples. Ernest.

Dear Steve,
Re comment by Ernest on Monday Ajpril 27, re his reference to Allan Yeomans. Jim has read Allan's books and literature and he can't understand why, not only the ABC, but the media generally will not give him any publicity at all. It is all just good old fashioned common sense but nobody seems to be interested in that anymore. Australians are going to be taxed into oblivion and it will do absolutely nothing at all for climate change or anything else. It seems that you can sell anybody anything at all if you keep at it for long enough.

Barnaby, I am a fan of yours mainly because of your support for the Peter Spencer issue and I saw you at the two rallies in Canberra. I believe you are on the panel of a question and answer program on ABC tv on Monday night. I have received a circulating email that is really pushing for questions to be asked regarding the unfair indexation of ex-military super-annuation and the consequent eroding of their standard of living.

I thought I would give you fair warning of this, in case the 3 ex-military chaps do get to ask their question. I would suggest you go to www.dfwa.org.au and click on 'What's New," as this gives an insight into the situation. To be fore-warned, is to be fore-armed!

On another subject, just thought I'd mention that two of us "housewives" as Tony would say, are organising a protest rally re. Beef Imports in Lismore on Tuesday 5pm, when Julia Gillard will be arriving at a $100. a head dinner!!

Sincerely,
Anne Thompson.
