The Nationals Senator for Queensland, Senator Barnaby Joyce, will be opening an Electorate Office in Cairns this week. The office will be a focal point for Senator Joyce to keep abreast of issues in North Queensland.

The office has been in operation since 18 June; however Senator Joyce will officially open the office on Wednesday 18 July at 10:00 am.

“The National Party has always been committed to addressing the issues facing North Queenslanders and my new office will further exhibit this commitment.

“My electorate office in St George regularly receives correspondence and phone calls from people in North Queensland about a broad spectrum of issues ranging from better mobile phone coverage to establishing an ethanol industry in North Queensland.

“I felt it was important to get further in touch with the people of North Queensland and what better way than an office in Cairns?

“I’ll be visiting the office regularly and obtaining daily briefs regarding the issues of North Queensland.” Senator Joyce said.
