Yes, if an election was held tomorrow, Labor wouldn't just have to "go away" as Barnaby suggests.
The Australian people are angry because they are being treated like fools. I think a swift kick up the Khyber Pass at the edge of a steep cliff would be more the order of the day.
If you speak with former Labor voters, they will tell you the following:
"We used to be very staunch Labor voters, but now none of them seem to be any good."
Here in Queensland, Anna Bligh is unable to go to an early election because the unions won't give her any money. New people are also emerging from the woodwork to challenge Labor at the polls.
I saw Minister Combet give his speech on the Carbon Tax at the National Press Club. A few silly young women looked on as if they were hanging on every word of their saviour, but the vast majority looked sceptical, if not downright angry.
A Carbon Tax will:
1. drive manufacturers and miners out of the country
2. cause large scale unemployment
3. put more people on the Food Bank queues
4. make more people homeless
5. cut a hole in the budget big enough for an elephant to easily slip through
6. increase bills for fuel, food, electricity and every possible commodity and service
7. land more people on the dole queue
8. empty the government coffers of BORROWED money
9. drive up foreign debt to monumental levels
10. cause people to riot in the streets.
In the USA, where more than half of the population have rejected a Carbon Tax out of hand, President Obama has also failed to listen to the people, and is forging ahead with a GLOBAL AGENDA instead of a democratic, patriotic NATIONAL AGENDA.
Citizens of the developed world must immediately march on Parliament House, or the White House etc in the tens of thousands, to give all of these idiots the message that they can either REPRESENT THE WISHES OF THE PEOPLE or be thrown out onto the street and left to starve themselves!
What could be fairer than that?
