Today, the 4000 Australians, the working families, pensioners, blue collar workers, who reached into their own pockets to express their democratic right over the fury they have about the direction this government is going, received a response from elected members from our nation’s parliament and it was this.

Nick Champion, Member for Wakefield, called them “extremists with all the credibility of a Dungeons and Dragons convention”.

Minister Wong, in the height of conceit and arrogance, disparagingly referred to them as “that audience”. Senator Feeney interjected in the Senate and called them “members of the Ku Klux Klan”.

These comments are the height of absolute hubris, they are disgusting. They show in direct light their improper motives and duplicity in using the term “deniers”. Labor with comments such as these deserve neither the respect nor the support of the Australian people and Labor should unequivocally apologise. They did not impugn the character of us in the parliament, where we expect it as part of this circus, but they have impugned the character of the salt of the fabric of the Australian people.
I watched the good ladies and men who appeared at that rally and I felt humbled to be able to represent those Australians on the lawns of our parliament, expressing their democratic right. I watched as one 90 year old, became distressed, was taken away in an ambulance but she had been motivated enough to turn up.

Ms Gillard and the Labor party, they are not “that audience”, they are not “extremists”, they are not part of a “dungeons and dragons convention” they are not part of the “Ku Klux Klan”. They are the people who gave you your job and if you do not apologise to them, it is your actions that are despicable.

Hello Barnaby - our family were so proud of you yesterday. You epitimise a true Australian who is passionate about his country and our farmers.

Question: Why does Sky News and others say only 1500 turned up to the Rally? can't they count.?

You would make a wonderful Prime Minister!

Thank God for men like you to be our voice in Parliament.

Keep strong as we fight this TAX.

Have a happy day! Trish

Nick Champion has forgotten our history. The British considered most of our early settlers as 'dissidents' and 'misfits'.

He has also forgotten the Eureka Stockade and the pledge of Peter Lalor when his mob of 'misfits' and 'dissidents' rose against an unfair tax and eventually prevailed. "As a result of the uprising a number of the miners' complaints were resolved. Legislation was passed to give miners the right to vote. A new form of licensing of Miners Rights costing £1 per year was introduced. The monthly gold tax was abolished".

“We swear by the Southern Cross to stand truly by each other to defend our rights and liberties”.

Peter's address to parliament:

"I would ask these gentlemen what they mean by the term 'democracy'. Do they mean Chartism or Communism or Republicanism? If so, I never was, I am not now, nor do I ever intend to be a democrat. But if a democrat means opposition to a tyrannical press, a tyrannical people, or a tyrannical government, then I have been, I am still, and will ever remain a democrat."

Has he also forgotten his own party's history? John Curtin stood strongly against Churchill and Roosevelt in what he regarded as 'Australia's best interests'. Is he to be regarded as a 'dissident, and 'misfit' because he held a belief contrary to others.

Labour should carefully consider the true meaning of words before they use them. Their constant use of the word 'dissident' to describe proponents of opposing views clearly defines their own doctrines as undemocratic and authoritarian.

"A dissident, broadly defined, is a person who actively challenges an established doctrine, policy, or institution. When dissidents unite for a common cause they often effect a dissident movement. The noun was first used in the political sense in 1940, with the rise of such authoritarian systems as the Soviet Union."

There is nothing wrong in being a dissident. It is synonymous with democracy and people who oppose an authoritarian and undemocratic government.

We are proudly democrats.

Dear Barnaby,
I was not at the rally but did watch the television broadcast as well as listened to the speaches on radio after the tv broadcast ceased. Congratulations and many thanks for your excellent presentation. The idiot, Nick Champion has already had a response from me but unfortunately people like him and Senator Wong are simply a waste of space. Their day of reckoning will come when we misfits, oddballs and extremists have our say at the next election. Many of the so called extremists suffered through the depression years and a world war and made huge sacrifices so that these ungrateful lunatics could espouse their vile insults at free will.

Keep up the good work.

Hi Barnaby,
The real extremists in Australia are those who want to prevent anyone exercising their right to free speech by voicing their disapproval to the pre-election deception of the Australian electorate by our Prime Minister. It is little wonder that she has lost the respect of so many Australians.
If opponents of the proposed carbon (dioxide) tax really were "extremists" then the proponents would be happy to call an immediate election to resolve the issue democratically. This will never happen of course because the proponents suspect (and rightly so) that more than 50% of the electorate are opposed to the tax, in the absence of a single reliable piece of evidence that it will lower the earth's temperature in any material way.
Keep up the good work Barnaby!
Regards
Paul

Comments attributed to Wong, Chambers and Feeney only reinforces for me just how far the Labor Government has moved away from being the people's party. In doing so they have severely undermined the very fabric of Australian Democracy and now operate more like a communistic state controlled by a handful of Green rednecks.

To say that what they are doing is in the 'interest of the public' does not always mean that it is in the 'public interest' as demonstrated by the large turnout on Wednesday.

Bring on the next election which may be alot closer than many believe.

Thank you Barnaby for your words & time at yesterday's rally. I was one of the many that travelled to Canberra (900k round trip) to voice my democratic right & attempt to have our inept Labor/Green Government held accountable for their lies & deliberate slander of my fellow Australian's as 'extremists' outraged at this horrible Carbon Tax.

You did the National Party, myself & many other Australian's proud. We are also thankful to have a rational, intelligent Pollie who stands for the real working Australian citizen within the Senate.

Was unable to get to Canberra due to prior commitments, but hoping to get to the Sinny one.
Watched question time, what a disgrace! Needs to be changed. Only opposition to ask questions of govt.
Will you be at the Sydney protest?

Well, if I wasn't an extremist before they are quickly turning me into one. That's for hell sure. I do not think I am alone considering the public No Carbon Tax Rally I attended in Brisbane on Wednesday.

I am visiting my local Labor member Mr Ripoll MP Oxley on Wednesday 30 March 2011 at 9.00am to face him with his insulting and condescending remarks to any citizen who disagrees with the 'science is settled' mantra.

Barnaby, thank you for your passion and direction in giving it to this untrustworthy and incompetent government. I am very angry and they are only making me more determined to defeat them the more they accuse me of being an ignorant denier extremist.

I am fuming. This socialist marxist government has to go before they well and truly destroy both the Australian economy and the social frabic of our nation.

This is typical Labor response to anything or anyone who opposes their plans. Call them names and belittle them. It's the only amunition they've got, because a reasoned response is beyond their capabilities or level of intelligence. Paul Keating had it down to a fine art, regularly spewing out profanities and personal insults. This current are doing him proud.

I am a scientist with a Phd with training in Ag Science, Geology, computing & statistics and am very familiar & experienced in handling data bases & computer modelling. I take great exception to being called a skeptic, denier or any of the other derogatory terms used and do not accept that the science is complete. With computer models you can come up with any desired outcome depending on the assumptions & data put in the model. If the science is settled how do the believers ignore thousands of PHd scientists in the USA who signed petitions against the belief in Climate Change. Also someone needs to ask questions if CO2 is the culprit why plants & trees are not growing faster than previously after all it is pumped into Glass houses to increase crop growth rates

I am sure the Australian Constitution has not been changed. It states that the elected members of Parliament are 'The Servants of the People' unfortunately the Green/Gillard Government does NOT know this. Yesterday some of The People made their voices heard at the protests, on ninemsm there was a poll 'do you support a carbon tax' by 11pm last night there were 109,000 plus against the tax and 22.000 plus for the tax.

The Green Gillard Government can show as much contempt as they like of the 'People' but this is OUR democracy the Politicians are there by A Vote and they will go out by A Vote. Bring on the election!!!!!

It just shows the absolute DISRESPECT that the so called Members of Parliament in Government, particularly, show the people of their own country.
No matter what side of politics one is on..there needs to be respect for the opinions,of the very people being governed . Unfortunately this sort of parliamentary member in the labour government, does'nt seem to get this idea of respect for the people they govern. They govern for the moment and not the long term. Their chickens will come home to roost!

The two Australians who won the Nobel Prize in medicine in 2005 showed that peptic ulcers were caused by a bacterium which they named. It took 15 years to convince the world scientific (medical) community that the popular belief was WRONG. And science advances when it is proved wrong. How these lunatic politicians and arrogant scientists can announce deceitfully the science is settled on climate change - well this just beggars belief.
I hope more scientists show the argument for this non-sensical tax is a fraud and based on corrupted science. The smart scientists and climatologists can't tell us what the weather will be accurately next week!!!! Why should we believe their stupid predictions of environmental disaster from a substance that is NOT a pollutant.
Anyone disagreeing with the Labor-green view is branded with names. What are they then.....clowns, lunatics, deceivers, idiots.
Regardless of name calling, the whole argument is a fraud and I am glad to see more people waking up to it. As if a tax will change the environment. It will generate a huge industry for fleas and parasites

This labor government is the most dangerous parliamentary group ever to be empowered to administer my country in my life time of 70years. They have an agenda similar to that of a communist nation where dictatorial has become the order of the day, where minority groups of dubious ability rule the roost on an agenda of misinformation and lies in an effort to mislead for their own ulterior motives.
Why doesn't Gillard inform the Australian public of the huge investment by Trade Unions into Wind Generators seeking high financial returns for the benefit of its superannuates. She and her cohorts know the inadequacies of this technology to supply regular energy.
I pray for the day this lot of freaks are thrown from office so my country can again be one where we are democratic and free of the traitors currently holding the reins of power in Canberra.

This carbon tax is having the exact opposite effect on the Australian populace, instead of reassuring them of Gov't good intentions and lulling us by their soothing voices, (ha !) it's stinging the silent majority into action. Descriptions of 'Dinosaurs' and 'Extremists' just add fuel to the fire. We have now become the vocal majority. Wait for Sydney- they ain't seen nothing yet!

Dear Senator Joyce,

I am writing to thank you for your support of myself and my family to be part of the rally yesterday .I understand that the Lobour Party members have sugested the above comments about us and this is very hurtful .We went to the rally because we are in small business and are very very worried about this goverment and there idea's to stop us from having a living .It is very hard out here in the real world , my parents are in the late sixties and are still working seven days a week to make ends meet .

I just pray that senesability will prevail and we can have an election right away .

Once again Thank You for everything you are and do for Australia.

Thank you Mr Joyce for your words of support. I am a 65yr old woman, mother of 4 and grandmother of 3, who has had a stroke and this was my first political rally. I felt so strongly about this tax that I had to go to Canberra and be counted. Thank you again for your support.

You were one of the first politicians to have the guts to simply ask the Alarmist/Warmist industry to explain what ordinary Australian working families will get for the pain that the global warming scam will inevitably cost.

For that, you were ridiculed. They called you names.

Now, it looks like it's our turn.

This " extremist " has never ever attended a rally before
This " extremist " attended at age 63 to protect the future of my children and 3 grandchildren
This " extremist " is grateful for the opportunity to have attended
If exercising in a peaceful manner my democratic right labels me as an " extremist " then I will stay an " extremist " just like the 91 year old that attended the rally
and felt faint in the process. What the carbon tax will do to our economy, jobs and export market should make every Australian feel faint. This " extremist "is all

The arrogance of Ms Gillard and her ilk is breathtaking. Last time I looked we were a democracy, but apparently fast heading for a dictatorship. So "No means No?" before the election the "boys" were lectured on what No means but when it is inconvenient to point out that No means Yes then we are sexist
All policies should be declared before an election, that is the now debased Westminster System and the GG should enforce this

Labor cannot directly answer questions therefore they are lying on all fronts

I support your actions and point out that Icelands active Volcano produced more carbon in four days and negated every single effort by man to reduce CO2 polution in the previous five years

The 1991 Philipines Mt Pinatubo Volcano's, one years eruption, caused more carbon CO2 than all of mandkinds entire presence on earth

So there we have it! Nature including bushfires and backburning in Australia produce most of the CO2 here than man made events

But Labor is going to close down Manufacturing and Coal Mining for Electricity production to meet some hazy unresolved UN agenda to transfer both Capital and Jobs overseas to Third World Countries.

And protestors lack reality? and are sceptics? as they say "Show us the Proof"

And when all Manufacturing Jobs are closed down, when we are left in the dark, because Renewable power only works 10am to 4pm, these UN lackeys will have their overseas UN based jobs and the previousl hard working Australians will be left in charge of a Basket Weaving economy

Such an important policy should be put to a vote and the GG should insist on thiat happening and if uninformed Aussies get it wrong so be it!

These MPs - including Julia Gillard herself- are an absolute disgrace! What a despicable way to describe members of the public who peacefully protest against government policy.
To watch Julia Gillard in Parliament yesterday SCREECHING at the top of her voice that Tony Abbott is associating with extremists (those at the rally) is stunning in it's dishonesty.
I can only summise that Labor are truly shocked by the public reaction and are fighting back the only way they can..with personal attacks and insults.

Keep up the great work, Barnaby. You epitomise the honourable, intelligent member of Parliament of which there are very few at present!

Mr Joyce, I am a 65yr old extremist (still working and paying taxes) and I will definitely be going to the next rally in Sydney on 2nd April, but what I would like to say is how proud I was that you stood up for our boys in Afghanistan after that snivelling Minister Smith dared to offer an apology for the behaviour of our fighting men, and then for the shadow minister to state his dismay that men would talk like they do in the heat of combat, what is happening to our world. We have to get rid of this government before it completely stuffs our country. I'm thinking of withholding my taxes in protest.
Keep up the good work, your country needs you.

I had some members of my family make the trip to Canberra for the day.
They are retired people. They worked all their lives both as employees and employers. They were owners of a small business in Grenfell. They bought their home and raised a family. They are self funded retirees. They pay their private health insurance. They are not members of any political party. They have voted for Labor in previous state and federal elections as well as the Liberals.
They are happily married to each other, loved by their children and grandchildren. Their relatives such as myself are also fond of them.
The only thing they are fanatical about is their Cronulla Sutherland Sharks football team.

This so-called PM gained her parliamentary position by a proclamation to the Australian people about the carbon tax; hence she was elected on that basis, and paid a salary accordingly. She knowingly dishonoured that promise and is, in my opinion, receiving a PM's salary by deception. If a member of the public or a person in business was to do the same thing, Commonwealth Criminal Law provides that such a person has committed an inditable criminal offence. Noteably "OBTAINING FINANCIAL ADVANTAGE BY DECEPTION" CRIMINAL CODE 2002 - SECT 332. The PM's salary is a financial advantage obtasined by deception. She, being a lawyer, would be familiar with that! There is also a similiar law in Victoria "OBTAINING FINANCIAL ADVANTAGE BY DECEPTION" CRIMES ACT 1958 - SECT 82. Is that not enough for a double dissolution?? Keep up the good work Barnaby and stick it up 'em.

This was sent to me and long though it may be, it appears to back up and express our thoughts and fears.
I Am the Labor Parties Worst Nightmare.
I am a White, Conservative, Tax-Paying, God fearing Australian .
I am a hard working Australian and l work long hours to earn a living.

I believe in God and the freedom of religion, but I don't push it on others.
I drive Australian-made cars, and I believe in Australian products and buy them whenever I can.

I believe the money I make belongs to me and not some bloody governmental functionary, Labor/Greens or Liberal, that wants to share it with others who don't work!

I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!

I think owning a home doesn't make you a capitalist; it makes you a smart Australian
I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. Get over it!

I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac or any other item, you should do it in English.

I believe there should be no other language option.

I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.

My heroes are , Fellow Australians, John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Slim Dusty ,Roy Rogers, and Henry Ford, who invented the most awesome car
I don't hate the rich, but hate the way they are always find ways to pay less taxes
I don't pity the poor ,I hate the way they always crying that they are hard done by!!

I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it.

I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks, and neither have you!

I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country!

This is AUSTRALIA ....We like it the way it is and more so the way it was ...so stop trying to change it to look like Britain ,USA ,Russia or China , or some other socialist country!

If you were born or legally migrated here and don't like it... you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you. (And take Julie Gillard and her group with you.)
I believe it is time to really clean house, starting with the Lodge, the seat of our biggest problems.

I want to know exactly, where the "Do Gooder's " get their money from, and why are they always part of the problem and not the solution?

Can I get an AMEN on that one?

I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what race, color or creed you are, but not just because you happen to be an illegal alien and scream that they are "RACISTS PIGS"
.
And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my driver's license. I think it's good....

I hope you are not too stupid to claim to know how our electoral ballot system works, The Politician's don't'.so what hope have we??

I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause.... Get a job and do your part to support yourself and your family!

I believe that it doesn't take all the intellectuals to raise a child, it takes two parents....

I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think!

I believe the Australian/Indigenous flag's should be the only one's allowed to be flown in Australia !

If this makes me a BAD Australian, then yes, I'm a BAD Australian
If you are a BAD Australian too, please forward this to everyone you know....

We want our country back!
My Country.....
I hope this offends all illegal aliens.

My great, great, great grandfather watched as his friends died in the Boer War.
My grandfather watched and bled as his friends died in the the World Wars 1&2
My grandfather watched as his friends & brothers died in the Depression of 32.
My father watched as his friends died in Korea
I watched as my friends died in Vietnam ,East Timor & Desert Storm.
Our son's and daughters watched & bled as their friends died in Afghanistan and Iraq .. None of them died for the Afghanistan and Iraq Flag. Every Australian died for the Australian flag.

At a Victorian high school foreign students raised a Middle East flag on a school flag pole, Australian students took it down. Guess who was expelled...the students who took it down.

I think you will find that those who attended the rally did not vote for Julia Gillard or the independents. They are dyed in the wool conservative voters. As such they did not elect Julia Gillard and and not "the people who gave you your job."

Having said that, not everyone there was an extremist. However many there certainly were.

Now did Barnaby say "birthright"?
It would be nice for a transcript of his speech at the rally to be posted here.

The first time I heard our (now) Prime Minister give a speech some years ago, I commented to my wife that 'this lady has a very strong left wing agenda'. When I hear the Labor Party in debate, it reminds me of the 'old days' in Sydney when the Communist Party would gather at the Domain on Sunday and spruke their propaganda, and heaven help any dissenters, as they would be howled down and even threatened with physical violence. In Australia, we have two main 'safe-guards' that prevent extremists governments from imposing their will over and above the will of the people. Firstly an Election and secondly a Referendum and the question here is "do the Australian people want a Carbon Tax?" - do the Australian people place priority over an unproven principle of Global Warming and the minute signifignace Australia would have on it if the theory was proven to be true - or - do the Australian people see issues such as Education, Health, Aged Care, Basic Infrastructure etc. to be higher on the priority list? Why not take the issue to a Referendum??
I spent 21 years in the Australian Army and have served on active service; Whilst I was unable to get to Canberra for the protest, I know a number of Australian war veterans did; and I can assure you the title 'Klu Klux Klan" etc. does not sit well with those who risked their lives for our democratic freedom.

The big RIGHT hook is in swing clearing the senseless bitter, oddball policies of these cronies who have been hiding for the past 35yr since WHITLAM and his failures-- behind the so called veil of SOCIAL ENGINEERING for the GOOD of ALL ,these Labor common levelers have destroyed the advancement of our Nation by THE redistribution of its grit and achievement to the portion of Society that is the great sponge of hangers on none achievers and free unfetted grabbing welfare industry who are subsidized for the want of knowing how to fill in forms STATING and bleating POOR ME!. The 67% POWER VOTE now is in The BUSINEESS organized from Home-- Office-- Factory---Building Site -- All Mainly in outer City - Suburban or Rural. We must press on undeterred, to complete the work that must be done.

We must say a resounding "NO" to:

1. a tax on air.
2. high levels of toxic taxation.
3. redistribution of our national wealth to the third world.
4. loss of our national sovereignty.

I would like to see a new organisation set up: Taxaholics Anonymous, to which a large number of politicians need to be invited..

There will be another Anti-Carbon Tax Rally at 11.30 a.m. outside Parliament House here in Brisbane on Saturday 7 May 2011.

See you there!

Subject: Desalination Plants and the Carbon DIOXIDE (plant food) tax

I have a useful graphic with the mnemonics on DESERTEC+NBN+Desalination Plants Here http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs322.ash2/60236_435343331686_728436686_5361243_5369545_n.jpg

A thing about DESERTEC; it is meant to work in tandem with the Water Desalination Plants to control the agricultural economies by controlling water rights as the water has associated economic benefits to primary production. Guess where the energy for the plant comes from? Figure why the Greens are opposed to the building of Dams and environment law, a water dollarization and commodification?
YES CARTEL PRICE-MAKING....

Yes, DESERTEC could be the biggest Water and Energy Cartels funded by the Carbon Price.
Google Desalination Plant and DESERTEC; there is one planned for Port Augusta in SA http://www.sciencealert.com.au/opinions/20091203-18907.html
http://www.solardesalination.com.au/
More on DESERTEC and the planned new economics of the desalination plants http://www.cebit.com.au/assets/pdf/fpydc-stewart-taggart-desertec-australia.pdf

The riddle as to the Water Scarcity Report provided all those years back by the CSIRO has been answered....IT IS BIG, IT IS REALLY BIG AND IS GONNA COST SHORT OF A TRILLION DOLLARS....

DESERTEC AND AUSTRALIA: foresting the desert with Solar Panels, there is a plan for Australia's own National Smart Grid.

Subject: CLIMATE CHANGE COMMITTEE

Jenny Macklin has responded to me regarding AGW and she says “The scientific evidence and imperative for rapid and vigorous action to reduce emissions is overwhelming.”
My initial thought is that is only overwhelming to the those without high school science on their CV.
Anyway she says that input is accepted at:

MPCCC@climatechange.gov.au

or
The Multi-Party Climate Change Committee Secretariat
GPO Box 854
Canberra ACT 2601
Australia
Time to get those emailers working folks!!
BTW, Secretariat has a very politburo style to it.

PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION AROUND!!

I have noticed that the very People that have the rudest things to say and treat people with the most vile are the very politicians that have been given the SAFE SEATS that they never had to work for when will the voters wake up these people are not there to serve the people that voted for them BUT TO SERVE THEMSELVES AND THERE PARTY.

Barnaby Joyce, I liked you from the moment I first heard you speak.
Any chance of going on and becoming our PM?
I doubt it, but if you did I think you'd get in.

One comment said:
"At a Victorian high school foreign students raised a Middle East flag on a school flag pole, Australian students took it down. Guess who was expelled...the students who took it down."

Well, I can bet that if it had been an Israeli flag it would have stayed there for sure. After all, why did "our" PM decide to do the obligatory visit to Israel (bypassing Palestine of course) before the fix was in and she replaced Rudd?

Please keep on saying the truth as you, and we, see it. We need you - quite desperately.
