The Murray Darling Basin Plan, which should have been released before the election, could have been released during the election, must be released now as the election is over.
The lives of so many people in the basin hang precariously in the balance whilst we await the ditherings of the Minister who is attempting to procrastinate her way out of her predicament. She knows the results of the plan could mean decimation to regional irrigation communities and she does not have the strength or the conviction to release the plan and deal with the issues.
Hard decisions must be made and time waits for no one.
The guide to the draft plan is complete and even the Minister said that she would release it after the election.  Well the election is over, the people have voted, the ballot boxes are being stored away, but the draft Murray Darling Basin Plan hasn’t seen the light of day and the question to Minister Wong is “what is your excuse this time”?

To my knowledge, the election may not be over for another 2 weeks.

Even if the Independents run with Labor, and the Green we now have to put up with in the lower house, we already know Labor's plan for the nation.

This is to CLEAR THE LAND of our farmers, and CLEAR THE WATERS of fishermen, then sell the whole box and dice to China. Anna Blight has already co-operated to CLEAR THE PORTS AND RAILWAYS of Aussie control, to enable China to CLEAR THE COUNTRY of food.

Simple, don't you think?

On the eve of the election, I was speaking with Tony Zegenhagen, federal leader of the DLP, as to the projected election outcome.

He said he thought Labor would win by a narrow margin, but I said we would probably get a narrow win by the LNP, or a hung parliament.

So here we now are, waiting in limbo, to find out which way those Independents will jump. I couldn't imagine Bob Katter sitting among Labor Communists and their new Green recruit, and this fellow Oakshotte sounds as if he could actually be interested in restoring democracy to the parliament.

So as we wait patiently for an outcome, I am still predicting governance by the LNP, which will hopefully subtract Penny Wrong's water rationing scheme (and her Chinese cousins) from the argument.

If anyone is interested in hearing Larissa Waters, new Greens Senator and Environmental Lawyer, get a caning from Tony Zegenhagen over fishing our own waters, listen to Radio Interview No. 3 on the DLP website, where they are discussing Immigration and Sustainability.

I just hope we don't have to stay tuned while that Environmental Lawyer does her best to persecute/prosecute more of our farmers from their land.
