The high drama surrounding the ETS legislation and Malcolm Turnbull's very shaky leadership will play out in Parliament House over the course of the day. Barnaby Joyce, the Nationals leader in the Senate, helped trigger the rebellion within Coalition ranks against emissions trading. He says it's a great big new tax on the economy with zero environmental benefit. He's also had thousands of signatures on a petition against the ETS, many of the Liberals who resigned yesterday said their phones had been running hot with grassroots protest from their electorates.

G'day Barnaby,

I wonder who in the future will be saying SORRY to the Australian Nation for the many serious mistakes made by Kevin Rudd and his government, all at our expense.

Keep up the good work Barnaby and don't back down on this issue.

Regards

Thank you for the email addresses, Margaret (above), I have emailed all of them!!!

Barnaby, you and all of the Senators who are against this ETS MUST not waver in your efforts to stop the passage of this insanity.

I always thought that Joe Hockey would be a good candidate to lead the Coalition, but I am not so sure now. Word has it that he will follow the path of Malcolm Turnbull and try to get the bill through.

If a spill is taken, PLEASE encourage your fellow Senators to back Tony Abbott. The people implore the Senate to stop (or at the very least delay) this bill and demand that the people are given full disclosure as to its benefits and ramifications before a final vote is taken.

Keep up the great work, Barnaby, and encourge the rest of the Senate to follow your example.

Regards,
Gayle Sobieniak

G'day Barnaby

Please stick to your guns with this ETS. You are our only hope to persuade the senate to stop it. Malcolm Turnbull wants the ETS because of what his mates in the Merchant Banks stand to gain.

Stick to your guns.

Keep up the good work you are doing the us in regional Australia.

Barnaby,

All the very best for the week ahead ...its going to be 'full on".
All Australians are watching this unfold ..and hoping the senate braces themselves "for the onslaught" ..
Im expecting all the propaganda media to go into 'overdrive" and they will try and destroying everything in their power to push this policy through, and discredit anyone, who opposes it.
The prays of many of us are with you and you supportors.
Malcolm Turnbull, has had his chance and failed miserably..simply, he needs to be 'banished" to the never never !
Joe appears to be a "nice guy" but Aust needs a firm but fair leader. I hope he is a bit tougher than he looks.
Tony has the experience and is "streetwise" in politics today. He could be a good leader...however he doesnt have "the flair" some think makes the man.
Maybe Nick is the answer?
Thank you for all your support and representing the views of many Australians here.
I hope you seriously consider a PM position sometime soon...you have all of the above and much more...you understand the people and have great foresight and commonsense....a rarity !!!

Hello Barnaby,

Keep up the fight and if the Liberals cannot get their act together the Nationals should tell them that you will challenge then in every seat possible.

When are we ever going to stand up for our country's best interests and not fall for the nonsense that 22 million people should lead the world and end up paying the price.

Fight this legislation.
The science is plainly unclear.
Plus going on the climategate emails we'll never know if it's working or not.
Plus the world economy is shaky enough as it is.
Not to mention all the poor people who starve as we push towards biofuels and other alternative energy sources.
This will obviously drive the price of food beyond their reach as we have seen over the past few years.
Down with the ETS, down with Copenhagen - at least for the time being.
Regards.

Hi Barnaby
I am still dismayed at Mr Rudd's comments that he would not be held to ransome over the hunger strike action. Australians are being held to ransome by Rudds actions in and out of Australia over the ETS etc. We in the country have not got a voice because he plays his violin to the people in Sydney like the pied piper.
Why don't we look at finding a very reputable business man who can be paid to run the country and he assign ministers who can do the job eg. defence an ex service man with a very good undestanding of operations a minister for education who has been through the system.
Alot of people are scared because they have no say over what is happening to Australia and there seems to be no end until we work for the chinese.

regards
Carolyn
