12/05/10: Presented the Coalitions amendments to the Trade Practices Bill

The bill: amends eight Acts in relation to: approved superannuation clearing houses; forestry managed investment schemes; managed investment trusts; eligibility criteria for the entrepreneurs’ tax offset; and the corporate consolidation regime; and amends 13 Acts to make miscellaneous and technical amendments

 

 

 

 

05/05/10: Announced that the report from the Senate Inquiry - Native Vegetation Laws, Greenhouse Gas Abatement and Climate Change Measures, had been released and vindicated the stand by many farmers

 

 

 

 

 

28/04/10: After months of campaigning against the ETS, Kevin Rudd announces ''the great moral and economic challenge of our time'' the ETS, will be put off to after the election

 

25/03/10: Appointed Shadow Minister of Regional Development, Infrastructure and Water

 

15/03/10: Parliament overwhelmingly endorsed the Food Importation (Bovine Meat Standards) Bill. Bill was introduced with Senator Colbeck. This legislation will ensure that meat from countries with Mad Cow Disease (BSE) will undergo the same rigorous standards as Australian beef

13/10/05: TPA – Crossed the floor and blocked schedule 1 of the amendment. A decision vindicated when the ACCC blocked Toll’s takeover of Patrick because this merger would have lessened competition.
